How can we help?

We run a wide range of gardening activities for anyone to join in with. Whatever your age or ability, whether you’re new to gardening and vegetable growing or an old hand, we’re sure there will be something here to capture your interest. These are some of our current activities and services, but if we can help you or someone you care for in other ways, phone us and we’ll do our best to cater for your requirements. We offer extra support to people who need it and our qualified, experienced staff are here to help. We have a wide range of resources, and extensive gardens surround the centre. Whatever the weather there is always lots to do.

Supported Gardening

If you feel your confidence is lacking, you need extra help, or you’re feeling a bit isolated, you can attend one of our Tuesday or Wednesday workshops. You will get lots of support from our horticulture workers and will be invited to set goals that help you learn and progress. The gardening choices are many and the range of activities is sure to capture your interest and boost your confidence and motivation as you begin to see the results of your work.

New Beginnings

This group is run for people who need extra support, particularly those experiencing more severe anxiety or depression. The group meets on our quiet day (Monday). You can clearly identify goals, build confidence, add structure and stability to your week, making positive life changes through gardening. The group focuses on vegetables, herbs and fruit. You will need a referral from your GP, Social Worker or other support worker. Ask at reception for a New Beginnings leaflet, phone or contact us and we’ll send you one. Read more
