The "Job Done!" Project

‘Job Done!’ is a project run at The Balsam Centre where our gardens are located. The ‘Job Done!’ project helps people prepare for a return to the workplace or get work for the first time. This year we ran a pilot project where some people joined our Thursday gardening group and rediscovered skills they forgot they had, built confidence for a return to the workplace, learnt transferable skills through horticulture, and began to plan for future employment. We hope to expand this project soon.

You might be wanting to return to work after:

  • Bringing up a family with children now at school.
  • Recovering from a physical illness, injury.
  • A period of unemployment / redundancy or business closure.
  • Caring for someone else who no longer needs your care.

Or you might have:

  • A physical illness or injury, but still want structure and routine in your week.
  • Left education recently, be applying for jobs, but are at a loose end.
  • To care for someone else but need respite time for yourself.

But it’s not about the gardening -

It’s about getting back into the swing of work!! Flexible start dates. Sessions are 10am – 12.30pm on Thursdays every week with refreshments provided.
